The National Honors Society Scholarship Due: December 1st
Open to current seniors who are current NHS members in good standing; Student must plan to attend a post-secondary school in the fall.
Hagan Scholarship Due: December 1st
The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship designed to help high-achieving students from small towns and rural areas graduate college debt-free. Recipients must: a) graduate from a public high school located in a county having fewer than 50,000 residents, or b) graduate from a remote rural school located in a county having more than 50,000 residents. Hagan Scholars from 43 states are currently enrolled at 358 colleges and universities. Five hundred more scholarships will be awarded in April 2022. Information is attached.
National Space Club Scholarship Due: December 3rd
The applicant must have the intention of pursuing a career in the STEM fields and plan to attend an accredited U.S. college or university to follow a course of study to pursue a career in the STEM field, with a preference for those with space related interests.
Stephen J. Brady Stop Hunger Scholarship Due: December 5th
Must have demonstrated on-going commitment to their community by performing unpaid volunteer services impacting hunger in the United States at least within the last 12 months.
Volunteer services must be helping non-family members.
2021 Day County Conservation Youth Scholarship Program Due: December 6th
The Day County Conservation District is once again awarding scholarships to high school seniors who reside in Day County. $200 will be awarded to a total of five qualifying applicants. Students must demonstrate an interest in conservation. Application is attached.
Black Hills Stock Show Foundation Due: December 10th
The non-profit Black Hills Stock Show Foundation is truly committed to preserving the legacy of the Western Way of Life and Investing in the Future. In support of this commitment the Foundation provides three annual Scholarship Programs to the youth of our communities who intend to pursue careers, either in or in support of agriculture. High school seniors planning on continuing their education through university, college and or technical institutions are invited to apply.
National Society Daughters of the American Revolution Patriots of the American Revolution High School Essay Contest Due: December 11th
This contest will focus on the men and women, both famous and unknown, who figured in the events of the American Revolution (1773 – 1783). Students will be asked to discuss how their chosen Patriot contributed to the founding of the nation. These Patriots may be one of our famous Founders, or an everyday man, woman, or child who supported the American Revolution in ways both large or small. We hope that this wide topic area will allow students to choose individuals who capture their imagination and interest.

Full–tuition scholarship for a woman in science, technology, engineering, or math.
SDSU Freshman Scholarship Due: December 15th
First-time freshman scholarships are awarded through the Admissions Office. The application for students enrolling for the first time in the Spring 2022 is available below. The scholarship application for students enrolling in the Summer or Fall 2022 will be available October 1, 2021. Priority is given to applications received on or before December 1, 2021.
James Carmichael Memorial Scholarship Foundation Due: December 15th
The Carmichael Family has dedicated this scholarship fund to James Carmichael’s memory. His widow and children wish to honor his name and memory by giving young people that have a love for Hereford cattle and agriculture an opportunity to further their education in the hope of providing strong leadership for the agricultural world in the future. Applicants are eligible from South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming and Nebraska. This application is available to all High School Seniors and those already attending colleges or universities.

Footlocker Scholar Athletes Scholarship Due: December 17th
The Foot Locker Scholar Athletes program honors student-athletes who demonstrate exceptional academic ability and strong leadership skills in sports, in their schools, and within their communities.
Whether you're the lead scorer or the most spirited team player, we want to hear how you have taken the skills you've cultivated in the locker room and used to them create a powerful, positive impact on the lives of others around you. Twenty Foot Locker Scholar Athletes will each receive $20,000 in college scholarship money for their excellence in school, on their sports teams, and in their communities.
In order to be eligible for the Foot Locker Scholar Athletes Program, the applicant must:
- Be entering college in the Fall of 2021 as a Freshman at an accredited four-year institution for an undergraduate degree;
- Be currently involved in high school sports, intramural sports, or community based sports.
- Have a minimum GPA of 3.0;
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident (you will be asked to prove citizenship and age if you win);
- Not be an employee, officer or director of Foot Locker, Inc., or any of its subsidiaries, or a member of the immediate family of such an employee, officer or director.
Equitable Excellence Scholarship Due: December 17th
The 2022 scholarship is now open for applications and has a renewed focus to recognize students who show potential by demonstrating the qualities of leadership, determination and resilience as critical enablers of their future success. Graduating high school seniors can apply by submitting an essay describing how they exhibit courage in pursuing what’s possible, display strength in managing challenges and share wisdom with others.

This is a quarterly scholarship of $2,500 that is super easy to apply with No GPA requirements, No minimum income requirements, and no essays to write.

South Dakota Association of Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors Scholarship Due: December 31st
Students interested in a career in the plumbing, heating and cooling field can apply. There will be one $1000 and one $500 scholarship given to students in South Dakota.
FIRE's Freedom in Academia Essay Contest Due: December 31st
Open to juniors and seniors in U.S. high schools, including home-schooled students, as well as U.S. citizens attending high school overseas. Students must submit an essay between 700 and 900 words on the provided topic.
