Langford Area High School senior Eliana Darling was recognized as one of South Dakota’s top academic achievers at the 35th Annual Academic Excellence Recognition Luncheon, held on April 28 in Pierre. The event, hosted by Governor Larry Rhoden and the Associated School Boards of South Dakota (ASBSD), celebrated students identified as the top one percent of their senior class.
Darling, daughter of Casey and Rebecca Darling, received a certificate signed by Governor Rhoden, Secretary of State Monae Johnson, and ASBSD President Garret Bischoff. She also received a commemorative South Dakota pin and had the opportunity to meet and be photographed with the Governor.
"Congratulations to all the students here," Governor Rhoden told the seniors. "You’ve put in years of effort, and your hard work and perseverance are an inspiration to all of us. You’re the best and the brightest. You’re the next generation of leaders in our state."
ASBSD President Garret Bischoff echoed the Governor’s sentiments, emphasizing the importance of talented and skilled individuals in shaping South Dakota's future.
